Trademark eSports has been set the record to four Diamond Division titles, but We Are Spies are holding the Gold Division record with three won titles in just one season. Another trip to Diamond will follow.
We Are Spies are in some way similar to QsQ 777 that they go to the Gold Division in one Cycle, get promoted into Diamond to drop right down again. The major difference though is, that We Are Spies always comes into the Premier League of HoN Tour with the Gold Championship attached to them. For the third time the team around DirtyMobs has won that prestigious title and so their third stint in the Diamond Division will start next week.
Unfortunately none of their previous runs ended all too well for the North American squad with two direct demotions and only two map victories in their four Diamond matches. Still their three Gold titles brought them a total of 3,000 points for the overall standings so their spot in the brackets was ever improving despite the two demotions. This time the newcomer team has to prove themselves though, as a demotion would squash their chances of playing more than three full cycles in the precious Diamond Division of HoN Tour. As this is the seventh Cycle, they would have to play the eighth and final Cycle back in Gold.
The pressure is on as the team has performed well in other competitions like the SoundBlaster Heroes League Qualifiers which brought them into contention for the $30,000 USD prize pool of the Championship Brackets in March. Now they have to prove their talent and quality in the Diamond Division to get rid of the "elevator" team challenge.
Following them into the Diamond Division is the newly founded team Vietnamese Dream, who took home the second place of the Gold Division only losing to We Are Spies throughout the Cycle. Alongside them are Fntastic4nGombos and DoberOnDamp. So the Diamond Division will welcome two new teams and two old teams back into their midst.
