Orange eSports is the most well-known, established and successful team in the South East Asian server region, that can also go toe-to-toe with international competitors. Their magnificent team fight coordination, plus their dedication towards their teams success made them one of the standout teams in the entire world and the dominant force in the emerging SEA market.
For two straight DreamHack events the guys from Malaysia were able to showcase their impeccable skills. The highlight of that showcasing came last winter, when Orange eSports finished second in Group B to clinch a playoff spot - as the first SEA team to ever do that.
“We're are very honoured and excited to be invited to this tournament. We will do our best and make sure that there will be some huge plays! Since we have a new line-up in the team, we hope to do better than before! We're definitely hoping to bring back first place and glory to SEA!”
While the team is still lacking a dominant grip on the international scene due to the server splits, Orange eSports is a fierce competitor in their home region. They currently just walked over every single opponent in the Malaysian National Championship tournament to secure themselves the national title as well as a record-setting $100,000 USD purse.
After that the team went into a rebuilding stage with longtime suicide laner XXF_ leaving not only the team, but also Heroes of Newerth. The speculations about possible replacements and the potential of Orange eSports going forward as a major factor in the balance of international HoN strength started. Finally Orange presented not one, but two replacements to fill the big shoes of XXF_ with Nick_Oks` and kiDDO` leaving MuFC to join the team.
This event will be the first real challenge on international soil for the experienced squad after the new pickups. It will also serve as a good practice for the that will square off against at least two of these opponents later on in the Garena Star League 2013 - that time with the homefield advantage on their side.
