The Garena announcements and the S2 Games announcements for the big Garena Star League 2013 in Bangkok, Thailand are going hand-in-hand as it seems. Just after Garena released more detailed informations about the format and such, S2 Games is following up with their scheduled for the two qualifiers.
Last week after the huge revelation of the $60,000 USD tournament on SEA soil, S2 Games fired away with an equally huge announcement of their own - a qualifier for the NA/EU region to go on an all paid trip to Bangkok. The original plan envisioned just one qualification tournament in which the best two teams would advance and secure a flight ticket and hotel reservations in the big city in Thailand. Now all Heroes of Newerth fans will get an extended look at the teams battling for the tickets, as two qualifiers will be held.
The standings after the fourth cycle and after the sixth cycle will determine which 16 teams will get the chance to play for the great opportunity to travel to the mega event in Thailand. The standing after the fifth cycle are in no way factored in to the equation.
The first qualifier will start on February, 11th with the Round of 16 matches, as the qualifier is just going to be held in the Single Elimination format. After three days of action packed HoN the first team will be saved and can start to plan for their epic trip to Thailand. The Grand Final will be played on February, 14th to be exact.
Second qualifier with the Top 16 teams of the standings after cycle 6 will start in the same Single Elimination format and will kick off on February, 25th. The end of that qualifier will be February, 28th - after that both NA/EU representatives are determined.
All matches and rounds will be starting at 10 PM CET ( 4 PM ET) and the best matches of the particular round will be broadcasted by Honcast.
