Stay Green wins Diamond Cycle 3

In what was undoubtedly the most exciting Diamond Division Grand Finals series thus far, the international mix of Stay Green managed to fend off the threat of in-form Q sQuad and were crowned the new HonTour champions.

QsQ previously dominated the two nominal favorites of compLexity Gaming and defending champions Trademark eSports with two clear-cut 2:0 victories before doing the same to high-flying Tt eSports in the losers bracket finals.

As the time for the highlight of the cycle came, they didn't look like stopping there. Stay Green, due to placing from the winners bracket, was up one to nothing to begin with but QsQ were not intimidated by the fact and walked over their opponents for two consecutive matches.

Stay Green, on the other hand, deserves praise as well for not feeling demotivated by losing their lead in such fashion. They fought hard to first draw the result at 2-2 on the wings of SliCKz, before sealing the deal with an amazing team performance in the deciding match of the series.

Cycle 3 definitely shook the scene quite a bit, which is clear if we take a look at the overall standings which determine three teams that will be directly invited to the HonTour Offline Finals. Stay Green (8275) has with this tournament victory skipped compLexity Gaming (6225) to take the second place and at the same time shrunk the lead that Trademark eSports (9800) has. QsQ (5750) is in firm grip of the fourth place and could challenge for third soon if their form continues.
