HonTour Gold: C1K is Gold Champion

The Diamond Division is coming to an end today, but the Gold Division already had its fantastic and thrilling final yesterday. The rematch between Call It Karma and Fack you Kurdi had to go into two series and ended in a surprise.

It was the rematch of the Upper Bracket Semifinal between the two known teams of Call It Karma and Fack you Kurdi, who burst into the spotlight of the scene this summer when they reached the DreamHon Online Summer Championship Group Stage. Now that the two teams are out on the map, it was no real surprise to see those two teams not only ending up in the Grand Final, but also getting the direct promotion to the Diamond Division in cycle one.

The match itself became a great showing of young talents, with a more action oriented approach than you see out of some Diamond matches. After four thrilling games with several unconventional hero choices like Artillery, Gunblade, Swiftblade, Hammerstorm, Artesia and Sand Wraith, Call It Karma reigned supreme over the entire Gold Division. They won both Best-of-Threes in a convincing 2-0 fashion, totally sweeping the slight favorite FyKu in the big final.

Still the match was "only" about seeding, money and points in HonTour, as both teams knew before the match, that they will be promoted into the Champions League - the Diamond Division. Them, MerryMenOfArabia and Shit Happens will try their luck in the next cycle in the highest division HonTour has to offer, competing against standouts like Trademark eSports, compLexity Gaming, stayGreen (formerly known as Gary Johnson 2012) and QsQ.
