Destination: Returners out, QsQ in - Deathmatches are set

The final day of the group stage started with a controversy and it ended in controversy. The first thing that was announced on the Honcast stream was that Tt eSports and GaryJohnson2012 have been awarded forfeit victories for the remaining matches - guaranteeing them spots one and two.

So the spotlight was on TheReturners and QsQ357, who still had their matches left to play. Initially it looked like QsQ would also be given a forfeit victory, but great sportsmanship on their part allowed TeamKierk to reschedule their match. While that discussion was going on TheReturners took care of business and defeated FyKu in a clear two-game series, keeping their hopes alive.

The only way TheReturners could make the top three now was if QsQ would lose at least one map. The first game went to QsQ and so the final match of the group stage brought the decision - kind off. Unfortunately three players of QsQ had huge connection issues and dropped out of the game for very long periods, leaving the game in pause. At that time QsQ was already up to a commanding lead with a Draconis enjoying massive farm. After the players could not reconnect, the Admins of the tournament made a ruling and giving the game to QsQ. With that victory they advanced to the postseason, where they now will square off with BunkerDown to fight for the DreamHack tickets.

Group B was basically decided before the final day, but seeding was still up for debate. BunkerDown got awarded a forfeit victory which guaranteed them the first seed in the group and rendered the matchup between Pikachu and Black Sheep meaningless.

Still that game was played and Pikachu went down to the North Americans from Black Sheep. Pikachu has earned the third seed from Group B, while Lions reached seed number two.
