Not long ago the Swedish organization Druidz E-sport attempted a comeback into the HoN scene when they were close to signing the Nineties to a deal. Said deal was toppled in the last second before the ink was on the contract, leaving Druidz without a team once again. Now the Swedish team around ArchiTiger was picked up by Druidz.
Druidz E-sport does not have the best reputation in the Heroes of Newerth scene, after dropping several teams right after the big DreamHack event. Their image didn't improve in the last signing incident when Nineties were reportedly in talks with the Swedish organization, but they blew up right before the real signings because of an added clause by Druidz. Nineties declined the contracts based on that added line and decided to go with the Lions as a supporter. Now Druidz E-sport has found another gateway into the scene once again, picking up the team around ArchiTiger.
ArchiTiger and Druidz have a history of their own, because Archi was a part of the 2011 DreamHack Winter team, that was supported by the Swedish organization. Together with his teammates Ikzu, Chessie, sjostrom and Revyy he played the group stage of that event, but after just one victory against Team EZ, the dream of an all-swedish DreamHack champion in Heroes of Newerth was laid to rest. The same could be said about the team after that event, because the winter break spelled the end of the team even though ArchiTiger said on numerous occasions that the team was one of the best teams he has ever played in. Still, several members moved to different projects with Ikzu and Revyy taking a step back from HoN, Chessie and sjostrom playing for fpbs and ArchiTiger moving to a short stint with HoNPortal and a couple of other teams. Now the "Lost Son" returns to Druidz, backed up with an all-swedish team once again.
Druidz E-sport Lineup:
ArchiTiger
FearTheZap
Pew
fuzi
Tankafett (tryout)
Ikzu (tryout)The roster consist of six players because Druidz are still trying out which fifth player has the best connection to the set four. Either Tankafett or Ikzu will become the fifth player of the team, since all other player are locked in. ArchiTiger stated that they are still testing the waters with those two players, since the team is going to be build to last and evolve.
The team has their first major appearance with their new name today, when they take on their Swedish rivals in Fifteen in the DreamHon Redemption tournament.
