DreamHon Group A: Nullified game puts ORGE in pole position

The fourth week brought a couple of interesting results and one postponed game. With Group A heading into the latter portion of the group stage, the new ruling on the "Ringer violation" is changing the complexity of the standings immensely. ORGE took over the group with three teams in serious contention for the second spot.

The Pikachu vs. Nineties (now Lions) match might be the most talked about game in the last couple of days. The first ruling saw a forfeit of Pikachu, using Nir` as a ringer on an already used account. Recent investigations showed that Pikachu wasn't the only team violating that ringer rule in that match. TotaiiyTrash turned out to be CatLoMein, a player who is leading BoCe in the tournament. So both teams infracted the rules of the tournament and both teams got punished.

The complete game will be nullified and be ruled as a loss for both teams, without a score apparently. The individual players and accounts will be restricted or banned as well. Nir` is allowed to join team Pikachu after serving a two game ban for his rule violation. CatLoMein and the account TotaiiyTrash will be banned for the entire tournament, leaving BoCe in jeopardy. To prevent events like this from happening in the future the admins installed a clause that is punishing a violation like this in the most severe kind of way. Every team that gets caught with an illegal ringer will be disqualified immediately and will be stripped of all earnings in that event.

This ruling left ORGE standing with an undefeated record, being in the driver's seat all of a sudden. They justified that place today with a huge victory over unZ, improving the overall record to 3-0. They even have the chance to go 4-0 in two days, when they play their postponed match against QsQ 613. unZ is still looking for that first victory in the tournament, falling to 0-4 with only one map on their side.

Despite the punishment, Pikachu and Lions are still standing in the tournament, both getting dominant victories today. Pikachu destroyed QsQ 112 and the Lions successfully debuted for their new sponsor with a 2-0 victory over QsQ 613. The last competitor fighting for the top two finish, QsQ 357, actually postponed their match against Smackdown Syndrome. That game will happen August 9th, the date were QsQ 613 will take on Orange eSports to complete the first four weeks of competition in this group.

Group B also took place with a postponed match between the undefeated teams iMpunity and FIT. The winner would stay with the flawless compLexity team, while the loser would fit an uphill battle for the rest of the group stage, falling one game behind a strong contender.

In an intense match, that is an early "Match of the Week" nominee, FIT was able to get the 2-1 victory, just barely edging out the strong Singapore team of iMpunity. They now hold a 3-0 record in their hands, giving them a huge edge over the pursuing teams like It's Gosu or iMpunity.
