mTw defeats Quantic as well, proceeds to LB final

The last match of the day between mTw and Quantic Gaming reduces the amount of teams who still could go to Seattle down to four. mTw is among these, Quantic is not.

Playing against Quantic is always a bit about how to beat Korok. This shall not underestimate what his teammates are capable of, but mostly they will play in a way to make Korok shine. If mTw was about to find a way to destroy Korok's game, they will probably win the game and end up among the top four teams of the tournament.

Game 1: mTw shuts down Korok completely

The picks and bans of the first game sort of contradicted Quantic's usual play. Normally it's Quantic giving Korok the Morphling and doing everything they can to give him an easy life. This time, though, Korok ends up with Storm Spirit.

mTw's job is to shut Korok down. They don't manage to reduce his creep kills, Korok is in the end able to farm a lot, but Quantic is unable to give him hero kills. Seeing Korok ending up with a 0-9 score overall is really unusual.

On the other side, it's Broodmother and Anti-Mage who manage to get those kills, Korok simply cannot find. mTw wins game one after three quarters on an hour.

Game 2: Quantic unable to use Korok's 9-1 start

Second game between mTw and Quantic starts with syndereN, this time on Nature's Prophet again, having a hell of a time in middle lane against Queen of Pain. Korok decides to play the QoP with two levels on Shadow Strike, harrassing syndereN to his death.

For mTw, the job of this matchup is to get as many hero kills with track on the enemy as possible. This way Bounty Hunter will give Nature's Prophet and Storm Spirit as much extra farm as they need. mTw has the advantage of pushing with Enigma and Nature's Prophet, but Quantic picked a highly mobile and ganking-heavy lineup.

The massive burst damage output of team Quantic allows Korok to gain an ultra kill after 15 minutes, followed by an uncontested mid lane tower attack by Quantic. Due to the 9-1 stats, Korok completes his Scythe of Vyse within 19 minutes.

A lack of coordination makes Korok and Windrunner run into a five man army of mTw and die after another. This gives mTw the free Roshan that has the chance of turning the tides.

As Quantic only has Queen of Pain as a carry, which transitions not perfectly into the lategame, mTw is catching the more hero kills they get, especially because of the Bounty Hunter. After the 14-12 score, it's mTw to take the next eleven kills to its account. Quantic can only delay, not prevent the destruction of its mid barracks. The match ends with Enigma hitting a 5-hero black hole which only Korok manages to survive.

mTw ends the third day of The International West qualifiers undefeated. The Danish-French-German team scores 2-0 wins against Infused as well as Quantic and continues its way all through the lower bracket, not giving up hope to secure the first spot in the tournament. The team is three more wins away from reaching this goal, however.
