EG's Ho Joon "Puma" Lee walked out triumphant from the 3rd/4th place match of ASUS ROG Assembly Winter. After falling 0-3 to Stephano in the semi-finals, Puma redeemed himself, scoring a flawless victory of his own against Lucky, winning $3,000.
Puma took the early lead after Lucky made a critical mistake of attacking straight into a terran position, heavily fortified with bunkers and tanks. With his army being mostly lings, the zerg suffered major losses and typed out immediately after the battle was done.
In game two, Puma played around Lucky's muscle ultralisk/infestor army, carefully avoiding direct engagements as much as possible while dropping everywhere to, eventually, bring the Lucky to half of a mining base. Himself being on four bases, Puma had zero troubles getting the 2-0 lead.
Third game saw Puma hitting siege tech just in time to say "no" to Lucky's ling/roach early aggression but then making the huge mistake of losing a large part of his marine army, which was taking a walk in the middle of the map for no logical reason to a ling surround. This served the role of a regulator to Puma's play who switched to a turtly stance before acquiring enough forces to safely move out and fortify the center high-ground. Eager to chase to terran away, Lucky once again stormed ahead, only to get burned down to death immediately.
Puma will be bringing home $3,000 as opposed to Lucky's $1,000. The fight for the big bucks - or the Assembly Winter grand final - between Stephano and Polt is kicking off 20:00 CET with $10,000 first place prize being on the line.
