Despite finishing second in his group during the first day, Polt was absolutely uncontested during his playoffs run. The TSL terran slew three Koreans to earn his spot at Assembly's final match.

After each winning a set, the semi finalists Polt and Lucky entered an extremely close third set on Antiga Shipyard. Lucky opened with a ling/baneling bust build and almost crushed Polt there and then but the terran's micro was just too good as even the final wave of near twenty banelings was no match for Polt's control. So instead of crippling the terran, Lucky was quite behind himself and it took him a while before he could even the supply and get a stable, late-game army of brood lords and infestors.

The game eventually was brought down to a base race with no apparent winner in the first few minutes. Lucky was quickly losing essential tech but his army composition seemed to favor him and so he evacuated all the drones he could and placed a hatchery in the middle of the map right below his flier. He then used that position to attack downward Polt's base but ended up the victim of a perfect viking/marine arc and lost his army in an instant.

The final set on Terminus was very similar, although the base race component was much shorter. Once again, Lucky opted for a strong brood lord/infestor composition but was defeated in the same way as last game - once he moved out to pressure Polt's third, Polt just dropped units in his main and cleaned everything in his sight.

Now in the grand final, Polt will be expecting the winner of Puma and Stephano, the match currently being streamed live.
