The young, up-and-coming terran Illusion could not withstand the power of DarkForce as the German walked out triumphant after three sets of ZvT to open IEM Sao Paulo.

DarkForce took the early lead, after taking advantage of some of Illusion's mistakes, starting with crushing the initial terran force but then immediately entering a heavy economy mode, giving Illusion some time to catch up. However, the American terran was once again ready to throw the equilibrium away as he moved almost tankless toward the center of the map in order to establish a fourth base. By that time, however, DarkForce had successfully reached greater spire tech and with just a few Brood Lords and abundance of infestors and banelings, he was able to secure the lead.

Spawning on Tal'Darim Altar for the second set, Illusion was much more alert and logical in his play. The terran used double-front attacks to always secure a dead hatchery and pimped up his overall style with constant drops all over the place which just made DarkForce fall apart, the nail in the coffin being the dead of his greater spire.

Coming into the final set, Illusion opened with a slight 1-rax pressure into CC and hellions, hoping to force roaches out of DarkForce which he would then crush with his marine/medivac transition. Indeed, DarkForce did put down a roach warren but also went for a baneling nest and launched a 2-base bust that caught the once again tankless illusion off-guard. Zerg's oppression over the terran continued and it was not until the 20th minute mark that Illusion could secure a third. Some sloppy elements in DarkForce's play like the relatively low drone count allowed Illusion a moment of respite but, ultimately, the terran could do nothing once ultras hit the field.
