The local heroes traded set for set, playing a very equally matched PvT until Mihaylo "Kas" Hayda came strong on Antiga Shipyard to close the series convincingly. If he is to make his way to the finals, however, the Ukrainian destroyer will have to go through another compatriot of his, namely Dmitriy "Dimaga" Filipchuk.
WhiteRa was the first to score a win, bullying down Kas on Terminus with a strong tier 3 composition of colossi and archons. The protoss deathball found no resistance in the face of the marine-heavy terran army and took the early lead. Kas, however, was quick to fight back on Tal'Darim Altar and showed immaculate mid-game despite failing his marauder bunker rush. Kas executed full control upon WhiteRa third and never allowed it to function for a long time, putting WhiteRa's economy in a very disadvantageous state.
The StarCraft tango continued on Shakuras Plateau and once again WhiteRa was the one leading the tempo. Puzzled grimace appeared on the casting duo's faces when Kas died to a simple 2-base 1-robo colossus push - something that should not happen to one of the best terrans in Europe. Mr. Hayda, however, succeeded in washing the shame away on Metalopolis, although not without being very close to being eliminated around the middle of the set. Kas opened with a stim attack but it was met by a perfectly timed charge that chased away the bio army all the way back to its main. WhiteRa took this opportunity to take a third and attempt to put down a fourth shortly after but that was when Kas struck true. As bullseye EMPs were poured upon WhiteRa's army, Kas managed to turn the whole set around and pummel down the protoss for the tie.
Kas ingeniousness fully shined on Antiga Shipyard as the terran came forth with an incredible cloak banshee into double CC opening. Although he did miss the window before the first observer popping out, Kas still secured a massive economy advantage that would later win him the game as WhiteRa's reaction was to go for a 2-base colossus push once again. This time, however, Kas was more then prepared, being in possession of a raven, three orbitals, a giant flock of vikings and more marauders than the protoss could handle. WhiteRa would end his IEM Kiev journey at the Ro8.
Tomorrow, Kas will play Dimaga to determine which one of them will represent their country at the grand final.
