Dmitriy "DIMAGA" Filipchuk continues to his confident crusade on local soil. In a five-set series against Pomi, Dimaga secures himself a top four spot and will await the winner of WhiteRa and Kas.
The Russian protoss opened the series by displaying incredible strength and confidence against Dimaga. On Tal'Darim Altar, Pomi used a double stargate opening forcing Dimaga into going corruptors and the war was airbound for quite a while. Pomi switched to a direct confrontation by launching a big void ray/colossus push but as it got cleaned he was smart to quickly transition to mass blink stalkers and finish off Dimaga who was still heavy on corruptors and thin on roaches. Game two saw Pomi rushing to blink stalkers but the fortunate outcome for him was mostly due to Dimaga's mistakes. The Ukrainian refused to give up his fourth and foolishly committed to a fight that he could not win.
Dimaga began his comeback on Dual Sight after a clutch defense against Pomi's 2-base immortal/gateway timing. Another fortune cookie was presented to him on Shattered Temple as a simple infestor/speedling attack found the protoss army all clumped up and chain fungals cleared every colossus on the field.

The final set was played on Metalopolis and Pomi opened with a 7-gate pressure against Dimaga's third. Although up against the ropes through the majority of the fight, zerg's excellent control kept him alive just enough for burrow to finish and turn the tides of the battle completely in Dimaga's favor.
In the semi-finals Dimaga will have to face a compatriot of his in the face of either Kas or WhiteRa, which means there will definitely be an Ukrainian at IEM Kiev.
