Empire adds a fourth Terran to their Russia-based StarCraft 2 squad. It is the former Undead WarCraft 3 player Happy who debuts into the Korprulu Sector.
Former WarCraft 3 professional Dmitry "Happy" Kostin has teamed up with Team Empire. The Russian, who is still ranked among the top best in WarCraft 3 and holds bronze medals from both BlizzCon and world Cyber Games, has now shifted gears into Starcraft 2.
The Russian Terran will team up with other top Eastern Terrans in Empire, such as Kas and Beastyqt. His focus will be online cup competition and team leagues.
- "I will play team matches and some online cups, but for now I don't have plans to play any LAN tournaments in the near future," says Happy but mentions that he will see how it will turn out to be later on.
Head manager of Empire's Starcraft 2 Squad, Alexander "StrangeR" Solomonov, is rapturous about the signing.
- "Happy was the best WarCraft III player of Russia and one of the best in the world, undoubtedly he will become best in StarCraft II too," says Solomonov on the team's webpage.
In the same statement, Empire announce they won't continue supporting Bly and Outside and wish them good luck in the search for a new team.
