$10,000 Pro-Am Tournament Announced by Creative Technology

A $10,000 pro-am (professional-amateur) tournament has been announced by Creative Technology. The Sound Blaster Tactic 3D Online Pro-am Gaming Tournament is sponsored by Creative Technologies and presented by Fry's Electronics. The tournament was developed in conjunction with Team compLexity.

Being a pro-am tournament, the format will give amateur players a chance at playing against professional players invited to the tournament. The first stage of the two-stage tournament is a 1000 amateur bracket where the top 32 players will advance to the next stage. The second and last stage is where the amateurs that qualified will play against 32 invited professional players. It is in the second stage that players will get a crack at the $10,000 prize pool.

Registration for the 1000 player amateur stage will open on April 8th 2011, while the tournament itself will begin in May.
