Replays.net interviewed a World Cyber Games debuting Sung Sik "ReminD" Kim. GosuGamers has translated it for your reading pleasure.
The Grand Finals is getting ever so close. How do you feel these few days? Too excited to sleep?
- Indeed. I am very excited about it as this is my first time ever playing in WCG Grand Finals. I'm also in very good form these days.
Who have you been training with in preparation for the Grand Finals?
- Mostly just playing with different Europeans or Chinese players. As to specifically who, I won't be saying.
The groupings have already been released a while ago. Your placed with favorites such as TH000. Are you worried of an upset happening?
- My group is indeed very difficult, but I am confident that I can get through it.
If you past the group stages, you'll most probably face Lyn or Fly in the quarter finals. What are your strategy against Orcs?
- I'm usually very aggressive playing against Orcs, this will stop the opponent from expanding fast. If you let Orc's get too much of an advantage, your chances of winning gets smaller. It gets a lot harder if BM is able to get some good items.
Timing is also plays a very important role, how do you get better timing in wars?
- That comes down to experience, you have to be aware of your opponents MF lanes as well as their approximate tech upgrades. The crucial thing is that you need to make the right decision at the right time. For example, if you can't win the push, but your expansion is already completed you should have TPed over to defend the base.
This year's WCG only has 20 players competing. What are your views on that?
- Rather disappointed. I was hoping for a great coverage for a world event with around 50 players. That being said, I believe this year's WCG will be one of the most intense ever.
Do you think that WCG will one day become as big and as grand as the Olympics?
- The sky is the limit for eSports, so I strongly believe it will one day.
Everyone knows that you are one of the few Left-handers in the proffesional gaming scene. A very unique trait. Left-handers have gained some advantages in proffesioanl sports. Does it happen in WC3?
- Don't think so. It's sometimes a nuisance really. But it does have a few advantages as I can control more of the keyboard that way.
Just out of curiosity, can you play with Right hand?
- Yes I can. But I can't win players who are level 20 and above in Battle.Net.
Thank you ReMinD for taking the time for this interview. All the best in WCG.
- Thank you.
