- "I'm expecting some hard games because right now my Zerg versus Protoss isn't that good, because I've been playing Zerg versus Terran exclusively the last weeks. I hope it will turn into some nice games," says HayprO.
HayprO qualified from the very first open tournament, reaching in second place after Nick "ajtls" de Cesare. He was not that scared of not reaching the playoffs, due to the many scheduled qualifiers.
Going up against the Frenchman Adelscott, HayprO is unsure whether it's the matchup that is tough, or if it's him being bad.
- "I think Zerg versus Protoss is pretty hard, but people have been complaining about Zerg versus Terran only lately and forgetting about the other matchup," explains HayprO. "But since I haven't played Zerg versus Protoss lately I can't be sure if the matchup is hard or me being bad," he says and laughs.
What are the things to focus on? What's crucial to be able to win against a Protoss player?
- Versus the one-base-strategy it's mostly about defending with zerglings and sunkens or roaches while getting hydralisks. Versus the fast expand you have to scout to see if they are going to go mass gate push or a fast robotics facility. Protoss also have some other strategies that are really good, like the +1 attack push and the phoenix opening.
The two have not played each other in any official match as of yet, other than on the ladder in which HayprO have noticed a certain pattern.
- "He seems to like doing a fast expand into massgate attack, but I'm pretty sure he got some other strategies too," says HayprO.
