Training is where it begins

With the recent announcement of the invited teams for ESWC (ESWC announces list of invited teams...), it was music to one's ears to hear that ESWC decided to invite nine teams instead of the predetermined five teams as well as Malaysia confirming its qualifier, which is to be held on the 6th June.

As with all things regarding invitations and such, there were a few surprises. Teams such as CNB (Brazil), were not expected to make the final cut, but it seems as if ESWC expects big things from this team, who have not really had the chance to prove themselves in online tournaments. One of the more controversial decisions is the fact that Germany has two invited teams, namely LAN and Online-Kingdom. One might recall that KuroKy is part of Online-Kingdom's roster, after failing to qualify via ASUS Spring with TeamHome(DTS defeats TeamHome in the finals...).



GosuGamers had a chance to grab a couple words from a number of teams regarding their preparation for the tournament as well as what their invitation means to them:

OK|syndereN:

-"Of course we're all thrilled and excited about the invite, and will be practicing a lot in the upcoming weeks. We talked about how we thought they should extend the team pool from 12 to 16 teams, and it actually happened, so that's just great! Looking very much forward to meet all these guys on LAN (smile)."

blight|Broesly(Blight's Manager):

-"The team and myself have been excited about getting an invite since its announcement and it means a lot to duel it out with Europe's, Asia's and America's best DotA teams and to prove that we are the best. We always dive into a tournament like this with motivation and courage, all in the hope to claim a gold medal. This of course takes a great deal of practise, so the guys will be scrimming 24/7 until ESWC in order to get their gameplay to the best possible standard."

Tribal`zepic:

-"Well first of all it means a lot to us to be invited. After our recent results, being placed 2nd in both GosuCups and our third place in Pick-League, we felt we deserved this invit. But currently some of us (Gordan, Baja and and myself) need to study for university so it doesn't look as if we'll be able to train as often as we'd like to. Regardless, we really can't wait to face EHOME on LAN. We just want to see how their gameplay varies from ours, whether they are THAT good and how will we both perform in a lag free enviroment."
