Over 100 teams have signed up for the SC2CL and the clan tournament is ready to take flight.
A final count of 33 groups were made in the SC2CL's StarCraft II Beta Tournament sponsored by EIZO. Out of the 33 groups of teams one team will emerge to be triumphant and take home the 650 Euro grand prize. Second and third place will receive 250 and 100 Euros respectively.
Most of the major teams in the beta, if not all of them, have registered for this tournament. Names such as RoX.KIS, Team Liquid, and MYM.SC2 have major players that have been dominant in the beta scene thus far.
The event will start at 21:00 CET May 16th and will see most teams in action as well as most of the streamers as well, in five different languages. Matches will be played every Saturday at 6PM CET and every Sunday at 9PM CET. The first stage of this tournament will run until the 23rd of May where most groups have their last matches set.
This will most likely be the tournament with the most game played in the StarCraft II beta to date as more than 400 players will play in clan war style matches which will require three 1v1 matches, a 2v2 match, plus a 1v1 ace match if required to break a tie. Each match will also be best-of-three, which all adds up to a lot of games played.
The group stage of the tournament is planned to end in a week from its start and the tournament will move quickly to the second stage which is a single-elimination grid. So the teams will have only a week to fine-tune their skills and get themselves into the bracket stage.
