Dray chats about how he is enjoying life, juggling between raising his kids, taking up boxing and spending some quality time focussing on his love life. When asked about his previous DotA team, Online-Kingdom, Dray wishes them all the best and believes that they can achieve success if they put their minds to it. His opinion of HoN is simple: it contains everything that DotA has, just more. The engine is far superior and it just adds that extra spark to the game. However, his main reason for moving to HoN because he believes it is a well designed game and it gives him the opportunity to casually play with his friends in real life.
Below is an extract from the interview:
What are some of the differences that you see between HoN and DotA?
-"DotA has more heroes and number of users, but the game engine is not as good. It's slow and it does not look as good as HoN. HoN has also completely solved the disconnect issue among others, and the way the graphics run is a big plus."
The announcement of the myMYM HoN Pride tournament has had several mixed responses from the community; how do you personally feel about it?
-"Between DotA and HoN, it's pretty clear where the money is, and that's cool. It's still too bad that DotA didn't become bigger, even though DotA has come a long way... Especially when you look at how much time has gone into it and how many users play it. Sponsors and money are not everything, but they are something."
Valid points from the DotA veteran, but will the promise of glory and riches lure more professional DotA players away from the game they have devoted hours upon hours to? Or will sponsors take DotA more seriously, creating more tournaments such as the Razor Global Challenge? Only time will tell, but it can easily be said that the DotA community will not go down without a fight.
