When the going gets tough, the tough gets going and that was exactly what teams like unique and OK did. They came with their guns blazing as they played a totally different style of DotA in the Capture Point mode.
The games took placed over two days, 1st and 2nd of May and out of the nice games played, two of them has become recommended replays and that just shows the amount of action in the games.
There were a number of unexpected outcome from matches like DTS being knocked out in the first round and GDT, well known for using mass ganks and engagement strategies, also being taken out by Unique in the first round.
The mode CP has changed the game play and heroes that can stay in battle and have spells, that are most effective without creeps around, will have an upper hand in clashes. Heroes likes Lich, Puck and Rhaste just to name a few. One very common hero that appears frequently in the games is Furion where he is either picked or banned. His strength in that mode was to use teleport and sneakingly grab a capture point without giving the opponent team the chance to stop him fast enough.
Moves appeared that most likely annoyed the other team, like Broodmother walking around invisible in webs over the points, to keep them impregnable for the enemy team. Storm using his ultimate to go in and reset really quick, and heroes like Sven blinking in just in time wrecking havoc.
Madmortigan with the help of Mandurang shout-casted the games live and explained the mode to the viewes. Both showed once again their knowledge of DotA and how often once can mix up capture point and rune.
