The open qualifiers will be played on the weekend of September 23 and 24, while the first stage of the EBL SIGMA CUP starts on Wednesday, September 28. The qualification format will be single elimination, and the two Open Qualifier champions continue their journey together with all the other EBL teams. The format is pretty straight-forward. Diamant and Partizan, as the two best teams this year, go directly to the Final 4 stage, while all the others fight in the two playoff brackets, ranked by annual success (championship points), and the winners of both play against Diamant and Partizan to advance. After we sort out who’s going to represent the Balkans, the champion of this stage goes directly to the LAN, while the runner-up goes to a play-off with the second-placed teams from Greece and the Czech Republic, where the last LAN team will be decided at the beginning of November.
