Gen.G are the 2025 League of Legends Esports World Cup Champions

Meawnwhile, T1 finished in third place, after defeating G2 Esports in a 2-0 sweep.

The 2025 League of Legends Esports World Cup has crowned its champions: Gen.G. The South Korean powerhouse edged out China’s Anyone's Legend in a thrilling 3-2 Grand Final to claim the title and a US$600,000 prize.

Both finalists entered the tournament as direct playoff seeds, with Gen.G storming past FlyQuest 2-0 in the Quarterfinals. Anyone’s Legend, meanwhile, took a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Hanwha Life Esports.

In the Semifinals, Gen.G outplayed G2 Esports in a 2-1 series marked by calculated macro and strong late-game execution. On the other side of the bracket, Anyone’s Legend delivered a statement 2-0 win overT1; payback for their defeat at the 2025 Mid-Season Invitational lower bracket finals.

Grand Finals recap:

Gen.G opened the series with confident map control, building a steady lead through early objectives and coordinated rotations. A decisive teamfight near Baron sealed the fate of the game, allowing Gen.G to destroy Anyone's Legend's Nexus in 30 minutes.

The second game mirrored the first one, with Gen.G dominating the map and executing their strategy with precision. And although Anyone's Legend tried to keep up, the South Korean powerhouse were still able to hold on and keep their advantage. And in just 28 minutes, Gen.G destroyed Anyone's Legend's Nexus to win the second game.

In the third game, Anyone’s Legend were more proactive, responding to Gen.G's advances with tempo and aggression, finding early skirmish wins and eventually outpacing Gen.G in the mid-game after a fight at the Dragon pit that swung in AL's favour. AL were able to take the Baron and Dragon uncontested, allowing them to open up Gen.G's base. Despite the South Korean team's efforts to defend, their Nexus fell in AL's hands after a 29-minute encounter.

AL continued to display aggressiveness in the fourth game, gaining an early gold advantage in the laning phase. However, Gen.G were not too far behind, doing their best to prevent their Chinese opponents from increasing the gold lead. The game continued to stretch, with the lead bouncing back and forth from Gen.G to AL. A final chase in the jungle, however, went AL's way, allowing them to march down Gen.G's base and destroy the Nexus after a lengthy, 46-minute bloodbath to win the fourth game and equalize the series 2-2.

In the fifth game decider, Gen.G took the lead once again, but AL continued to fight on. However, Gen.G were superior in team fights and map control this round, trouncing AL on every turn. And after 29 minutes, Gen.G destroyed AL's Nexus to win the fifth game and the series 3-2.

With their win, Gen.G have become the 2025 LoL EWC Champions and have kept their 26 win-streak, remaining undefeated in any series. Meanwhile, Anyone's Legend bow out of the competition in second place, taking US$320,000 in consolation.

On third place is T1, after defeating G2 Esports 2-0, taking home US$230,000. G2 Esports bow out of the competition in fourth place, with US$160,000 in consolation.
