T1 will face Gen.G in a rematch at the MSI Grand Finals.
It was the final battle to reach the Grand Finals of the 2025 League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational, and two teams went all out in the Lower Bracket Finals in a bid to take the second Grand Finals spot. After a gruelling five-game series, it was
T1 who prevailed against
Anyone's Legend, 3-2.
T1 were dominant throughout the competition, having mostly stayed in the upper bracket—surviving
CTBC Flying Oyster's onslaught 3-2, then sweeping
Bilibili Gaming 3-0. However, they dropped to the lower bracket after one of the lengthiest five-game series, which went in
Gen.G’s favour, 3-2.
Meanwhile, AL defeated
FlyQuest 3-1 in the first round of the Upper Bracket but dropped to the Lower Bracket after falling to Gen.G 3-2. There, they took out CFO 3-1 before sweeping fellow LPL team BLG 3-0, reaching the Lower Bracket Finals to face T1.
Here’s how the matchup between T1 and Anyone's Legend went:
In the first game, both teams tried to test each other’s limits in the early game, but remained equal in terms of gold throughout. As the game progressed, T1 found wins in team fights and skirmishes, but AL always had a response to avoid falling behind. However, a fight at the Baron pit swung AL’s way, allowing them to nearly wipe out most of T1. After a 27-minute encounter, AL destroyed T1’s Nexus to win the first game.
In the second game, T1 went aggressive and quickly found a gold and kill lead in the early game. Despite AL trying to find ways to mount a comeback, T1 fought back and denied them any room. After a 29-minute siege and a staggering 13,000 gold lead, T1 destroyed AL’s Nexus to win the second game.
AL were unwilling to yield in the third game. This time, they dominated the map throughout, pressing their advantage in the mid-game. With a comfortable gold lead, AL slowly chipped away at T1’s base and eventually destroyed the Nexus in 31 minutes to win the third game and reach matchpoint.
In the fourth game, AL looked like they were dominating the mid to late game, raking in plenty of kills. However, despite the kill deficit, T1 remained even with them in terms of gold, keeping pace with their opponents. T1 then found an opportunity to wipe AL out after taking the Dragon Soul. With AL’s base defenceless, T1 pushed forward and destroyed AL’s Nexus in 26 minutes to win the fourth game and take the series to Silver Scrapes.
In the fifth game, both teams were on equal footing, but T1 kept finding wins in team fights and skirmishes across the map. Eventually, they started dominating the mid-to-late game, barely allowing AL any room to breathe. After a 28-minute onslaught, T1 took down AL’s Nexus with a 24-4 kill lead and an 11,000 gold lead to win the fifth game and the series, 3-2.
With their win, T1 are moving forward to the Grand Finals to face Gen.G in a rematch that will determine who the champions of the MSI this year are.
Meanwhile, AL bow out of the competition in third place, taking home US$240,000 in consolation.
