In an important move for the League of Legends pro scene, the Korean eSports Association is now taking steps to fullly incorporate the game.
The congressman of the Korean eSports Association (KeSPA), the president for Riot Games Asia, and other leaders including from ongamenet (OGN), have signed a memorandum of cooperation right before the beginning of the Starcraft 2 Proleague Summer Season.
Among the topics of discussion are the possibility of Korea hosting more global events, as well as all KeSPA teams venturing into LoL. However, because of the high standards of KeSPA , teams such as MVP, Najin, and LGIM might be put into jeopardy from participating.
In any case, this is a huge leap for League of Legends, as the additional support and promotion from such an organization would definitely elevate the popularity of the game, as well as attract more investors to the game, translating to better security for its professional players.
