 VS

Match Context: While these two teams were hyped beyond belief in the LSPL for their astonishing records, they have failed to take a win yet in the official LPL.  Young Glory has failed to take a win, though have seemed to provide a strategical edge over World Elite Academy in their games, simply failing to close them out against superior teams.

World Elite Academy still has the hype from their 2-0 grand final win over World Elite in G-League; however, with the two recent Korean additions to the team, only 2/5 members remain from the team's "golden era."  Both teams fight to drop the exclusive title of "worst team in China". To do that, however, they'll have to learn how to win games without a massive edge in the laning phase.

Key Points:

  • Young Glory pulls off a wombo combo composition with Jarvan, Leona, and Yasuo ultimates. However, outside of Dr. Mundo, they have lacking magic damage.
  • World Elite Academy's composition focuses more around picks.
  • Young Glory turns on the aggression first, utilizing their tankiness to dive onto top.  However, Xiye was able to grab a solo kill on DianGun.
  • While Xiye seemed to be holding the fort down with his mid-lane strength, Young Glory moved better as a team.
  • MickeyGod has very low kill participation, despite being Lee Sin, hading into mid game.
  • As a result of Young Glory's team-play, their tower lead is much larger.
  • Zhenlong has a perfect game on his Lucian and Young Glory acquire their first ever win.

Key Points:

  • Young Glory pulls a very similar composition while switching out Yasuo for Syndra and Lucian for Corki.
  • World Elite academy once again relies on catching with a bit of splitpush -- however, Young Glory has strong dueling power with their picks as well.
  • No early warding bottom allows World Elite to grab the first blood onto Young Glory. A bloodbath occured shortly after resulting in 9 kills in 8 minutes and World Elite Academy pulling ahead.
  • Though Xiye is more credited as a bursty mid player, his Lulu gets absurdly fed in this game and he becomes a key factor to WE.a's success.
  • Young Glory become overzealous with dragon, resulting in them getting cleaned up, giving up first tower AND dragon to WE.A.
  • Young Glory makes teleport plays in an attempt to get back into the game, but Khan was able to acquire free farm on Jax.
  • World Elite Academy gets a huge advantage the longer the game goes due to their huge tower lead, beating YG by 4 at just 22 minutes.
  • World Elite Academy take a win, tying last place again, but still showing they look a little lost without an early gold boost.

 VS

Match Context: Edward Gaming have shown a complete overhaul in their playstyle in recent weeks. Instead of focusing soley on late-game domination, they've been making plays early game.  However, StarHorn Royal Club has been stepping up their early game as well, dominating in early dragon control. However, Royal Club has still experienced questionable decision making where it matters.

The importance of this match revolves around standings. If either of these teams end up losing the set 0-2, they lose their 2nd place tie with World Elite.

Key Points:

  • Regardless of the Gragas pick, lanes become standard and Cola faces off against Koro's Jax and Uzi/Zero face off against Namei/Fzzf.
  • StarHorn's engage relies on a ball-carry system through Kha'zix while EDG simply relies onthe synergy of Jarvan and Jax with the power of Lulu to either engage or peel for Kog'Maw.
  • The warding in the early game renders the map extremely dark -- 0 wards.
  • A teleport bottom and four man roam allows Uzi to grab a double kill and move to dragon.
  • EDG finds superior teamfights as the game goes later.
  • Koro's Jax built another Bilgewater on top of his Blade of the Ruined King and sold it later for Banshees.
  • StarHorn's communication issues are still apparent when it comes to battling out objectives, InSec very sloppily gives up his life at baron.
  • EDG splitpush their way to a slow victory.

Key Points:

  • While EDG stalled until late game last game, their champions suggest strong pick potential with huge burst.
  • Royal Club picks a much safer champion pool with heavy disengage.
  • SHRC's dragon control continues to prevail in dragons, taking another first one in EDG's face.
  • EDG sustains a hefty lead in the early game and into the mid-game.
  • SHRC managed to get a baron and completely swing the game around.
  • EDG find a slight comeback opportunity due to SHRC overstaying, but SHRC find a sneaky 5-man backdoor opportunity, sneaking in to take out the Nexus.
