The OptiHack tournament is over, and so is the Swedish offline qualification to GGNL. In the finals two Team SWE members battled it out in front of a big crowd watching the game on the bigscreen. In the end TreK stood as the victor after defeating KeNKa with 3-0.
O
f the 26 participants, TreK
was the player that lasted the longest. In the finals he faced KeNKa in a best of five game, where TreK started with 1-0, coming from the winner bracket. The players moved to a special place, where they sat face to face, watching and analyzing their opponent's face expressions. A bit further away, the crowd was seated and watched the game on the bigscreen and/or the players.T
he first game they got to see
was a Protoss versus Protoss game on Sonata, that TreK won thanks to great reaver management and better knowledge of the map. "I never played that map before," KeNKa said after the match, and explains that in the first game in the tournament he left the game because his gas was taken. "I couldn't find any expansions!" he commented.B
attlecruisers mostly indicates a long
and even battle when it's inTerran versus Terran. The second game of the finals was indeed that. The game was played on Overture, where both players started out very defensive, grabbing expansions and slowly teching to battlecruisers. One of the main reasons that TreK had the upper hand was that his upgrades on his ships were higher than KeNKa's, and the fact that he had Missile Turrets all over the place.
T
his means that TreK is ranked 1st
in the Swedish qualification, and is the proud winner of 3000 Swedish Kronor and a lot of sponsor products from OptiHack, to be announced shorlty.
