This chapter of the Andy Frankenberger story saw an abrupt ending for the former player of the year when suffered a 5th place elimination at the hands of Harder’s pocket kings after only 13 hands of play, sending Frankenberger towards the rail to collect his $99,585 score and leaving the table one less noteworthy player.
The final table’s other notable, Christian Harder, was still standing and seemed incredibly focused upon seeing that his hopes for a WPT Titles would come to fruition. Harder faced a pretty uphill battle the tournament went into heads-up action with New Yorker Daniel Santoro, who held a 4.49 million to 1.23 million chip advantage. Unfortunately for those hoping to see a familiar name take down the 2011 WPT Foxwoods title, Harder was unable to accomplish the dramatic comeback leaving Santoro to take home his first WPT title and an immense $449,910 first place prize.
We’re sure to see Santoro back in action in at least one more event, as his nearly half a million dollar win included a $25,000 WPT Championship seat.
