
Each department received their notice on different days of the week as it rolled through the company's offices in Dublin (e.g. security, customer service, marketing etc.). No official confirmation was made by company officials in their Cherrywood offices. Many of those affected had had little to do over the last few months since the worldwide site operations had been shut down.
In September, management had informed employees that an additional 250 redundancies would be let go in the Dublin office after a review.
The let go workers expressed skepticism at the likelihood of Groupe Bernard Tapie successfully completing their purchase as regular updates from CEO had ceased lately on the company campus. Officially Groupe Bernard Tapie is engaged in negotiations with the U.S. Department of Justice to overcome one of the major hurdles to the conditional purchase by securing a settlement of charges and fines.
Despite various details of who played what role amongst ownership, the ex-employees universally praised their employment at Full Tilt Poker during the good times. They were compensated well and given extra special events to reward them for their work. They all expressed sadness at the demise of the company.
