Stars Come Out for Partouche Poker Tour

Many big stars of the poker world showed up in Cannes, France for the €8.500 buy-in main event of the Partouche Poker Tour. The fashion for many larger poker tournaments held in smaller venues has been to run two Day 1's. Tuesday saw many big stars come out to play Day 1B of the Partouche Poker Tour main event. They included Phil Hellmuth, Antonio Esfandiari, Phil Laak, Fabrice Soulier, WSOP Main Event final tablist Phil Collins, Michael Mizrachi, David Williams, and Freddy Deeb. Those players joined a total of 577 in the event.

Also playing Day 1B were lovely ladies Leo Margets, Rebecca Gerin, Jennifer Tilly, and Clair Renaut. For the men Joseph Cheong, Sorel Mizzi, Surinder Sunar, Roberto Romanello, Davidi Kitai, Davide Vamplew, Jake Cody, Robert Mizrachi and recent WPT Paris winner Matt Waxman played.

At the dinner break of Day 1B, 276 players remain from the 333 who entered the day.

Day 1a saw 244 entrants with notable players doing well that included Ludavic Lacay, Alex Kravchenko, Antony Lellouche, Vanessa Selbst, Arnaud Mattern, and Joe Cassidy. Unfortunately for many, they would not make Day 1 including Jani Sointula, Marvin Rettenmaïer, Men Nguyen, Joe Ebanks, Martin Jacobson, Antoine Saout, and Jean-Robert Bellande.

The combined Day 2 will begin at noon Wednesday.
