GosuGamers proudly presents our newest venture: the yearly eSports GosuTriathlon. Starting this May, the event has one purpose, to determine who is worthy to wield the title of “Best Gamer in the World”. In the spirit of the ancient Olympic Games, the GosuTriathlon aims to bring fans and players of the major eSports together. The idea is clear: to experience a unique sort of competition, create unforgettable stories and strengthen and unify the whole of the eSports family.
“We live in times when most of us have forgotten where we came from and how ten years ago it didn’t matter if you like DotA, StarCraft, WarCraft or Counter-Strike,” says Eric Khor, the main ideologist of the GosuTriathlon. “We argue and insult each other daily and this is by no means how eSports fans should behave towards each other. This tournament aims to strengthen this long-forgotten bond and will ultimately show how we’re not so different from each other, regardless of our affections.”
The Disciplines
As one can easily conjecture, the GosuTriathlon will span across GosuGamers’ three main titles, Dota 2, StarCraft 2 and League of Legends (in that order). Every discipline will test different set of skills in the players, give them a hard run for their money and make them bleed for the championship title.

The
Dota 2 portion will pit players in 1v1 mid lane battles. Only Strength heroes will be available because that’s the manly way and skinny ladies with bows, staves and similar woodwork will not be allowed. Chen, Meepo and other stupid micro heroes will also be forbidden as micro will be exclusive to SC2. The matches will be Best of Three but if one of the players makes the other ragequit or say “CYKA” in all chat he’s automatically assigned an extra win.
For Chinese mirror matches, GosuAdmins have agreed on a special 1-hour limit.
STARCRAFT 2 ![6bc0503b72ac9b1359c3b9f1b404afbfcc85424dac3d59c1fe12430d4b.jpg]()
The
StarCraft 2 sub-tournament will come in to measure players’ micromanagement skills because macro is so easy and stupid in this game, you just select all your buildings and spam Roaches and rally them and the Protoss can’t do anything while you just hold the R button forever. Example challenges include heart-stopping situations like killing Widow Mines with Drones or killing Battlecruisers with Zerglings.
LEAGUE OF LEGENDS
League of Legends will introduce an extra layer to the competition and will partner each player with 12 year old LoL fan, selected at random from the reddit community. The objective will be to kill the enemy noob toddler or make him cry and switch to SMITE and do the whole world a favor. To be in tone with the overall theme, the tournament will use a specially designed format displayed below.
The Challenges
Extra mini challenges will be presented to the survivors after each round to create extra content. Competitors will venture outside the main titles to hunt achievements in Stalin vs Aliens and Postal III, speed-unlock all penguins in Zoo Zoo Bubble or try to make a World of Tanks match exciting to watch. Each accomplished challenge will award a different set of points. The player with the largest pool at the end of the triathlon is rewarded an early beta access to Heroes of Azeroth (see the HoA section on GosuGamers for details) as well as special, less flashier version of the game which doesn’t cause epilepsy.
The Competitors
Special invites have already been sent to representatives of each eSport discipline and the excitement is already tangible. Several prominent personas have already issued statements about their participation in the Triathlon, promising to push the tournament beyond spectacular.
Grzegorz "MaNa" Komincz, Team Mousesports, StarCraft 2 “I feel very confident going into this tournament. Because of my Beta and HotS problems I've been playing lots of LoL with my brother and friends and I have huge experience in that already. I feel like the game is so easy that even my mother could join to play. I don't think there's anyone who can stop me in this tournament. Dota might be more challenging as I've played just half of the games I've played in LoL. Expect me doing great!”
Daryl "iceiceice" Koh Pei Xiang, Team Zenith, Dota 2 “As everyone knows, I'm the king of all games, having won international titles in Dota2, SC2, WC3 and LoL. So I don't foresee that anyone will be able to stand in my way of being the "Best Gamer in the world". Please, just give me the title and don't make me trash everyone just to prove it... I even beat Demon Souls and Dark Souls!”
Paul "sOAZ" Boyer, Team Fnatic, League of Legends “I feel confident going into this tournament because Dota doesn't require any skill for me since I'm a League of Legend player, and SC2 is just about macro, farming and cheese, you don't need to have a brain for that. I think the tournament is gonna be interesting overall but we all know who's gonna win it... me”
Michale "DreXxiN" Lalor, GosuGamers Templar, has 1500 Elo or something “For long years, I have studied the likes of CLG and my colleague Nydra and I know very well how not to play the game and look like a noob. As for the other titles, I have a rich BroodWar background so StarCraft 2 will be as easy as the Vietnam War which we won in 1945, and in Dota 2 I don't even have to go to base to shop because there's a pig with wings that brings me everything. Murrica will prevail!”
