When is Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun II coming out?
This week’s release date reveal for Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun II features a new song from the game’s soundtrack: Ascent of the Arkifane. The song was composed by guest composer Mick Gordon, whom shooter fans might be well-acquainted with by this point, as he also provided music for Doom (2016), Doom Eternal, Wolfenstein: The New Order, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, and more.
The song accompanies Vashtorr the Arkifane, who serves as the antagonist of this game. Players step into the mighty boots of Ultramarine Malum Caedo and Sister of Battle Nyra Veyrath as they travel to an isolated star system to check on increased Chaos activity. There, they will find themselves pit against the demigod Vashtorr the Arkifane, who has awakened a daemonic machine at the centre of the planet.
In Boltgun II, Malum and Nyra will race from world to world in this star system, as they attempt to cleanse the corruption wrought by Vashtor’s daemonic machine, and attempt to banish the demigod back into the Warp.
Gameplay-wise, Boltgun II picks up right where the first Boltgun left off, giving players a retro shooter power fantasy set in the grimdark world of Warhammer 40,000. Players can access a colourful variety of weapons, fight fan-favourite enemies like Nurglings and Chaos Cultists, and even meet a few new enemies along the way.
Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun II launches on 14 October, 2026.
