Tim Curry, an iconic Hollywood actor who starred in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, has died at 80. The actor is perhaps best known to gamers for playing Premier Anatoly Cherdenko in Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3, in live-action cutscenes that have stood the test of time thanks to their over-the-top dialogue.

Actor Tim Curry died on Tuesday (25 August) at his home in Los Angeles, according to Variety. A cause of death has not been made immediately public. However, Curry has battled health issues following a severe stroke he suffered back in 2012.
Curry has starred in a wide variety of video games, dating back to 1993’s Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers as the titular character, Gabriel Knight. He also starred in Tim Schafer’s Brutal Legend in 2009, as well as the very first game in the Dragon Age franchise, Dragon Age Origins (2009).
However, it’s Curry’s performance in the live-action cutscenes of Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 (2008) as Premier Anatoly Cherdenko that have truly stood the test of time in gaming.
