What are Final Fantasy VII Revelation’s Superbosses?

Gamescom Opening Night Live gave fans a new look at Final Fantasy VII Revelation’s endgame content, via a flashy gameplay trailer. Lifted from the original Final Fantasy VII’s late-game content, massive kaiju-like Weapons are coming to the game as Superbosses, meant to challenge players in standout battles.

These Weapons are emerging to defend the world from an apocalyptic threat, and players will have to take them on in desert sands, in mid-air dogfights and at the bottom of the sea. All this while attempting to race against time to stop Meteor from annihilating the planet, no less.

The new Gamescom trailer also showed off a powerful new Summon Typhon, along with open-world exploration gameplay. That includes parachuting, using the grappling hook, and climbing onto Chocobo mounts. Cloud and Tifa can also be seen in their Warrior and Black Mage FITS, which are apparel sets that bestow new job-like abilities.

The entire planet can be explored via the Highwind airship this time, and players can drop down for on-ground exploration via parachute. Players who have played Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and/or Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will also unlock the following bonuses in Revelation:

FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE:

  • Summon Materia: Chocobo & Moogle

FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH:

  • Summon Materia: Phoenix

Final Fantasy VII Revelation will launch in Spring 2027.
