Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s slick new suit is coming to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
It’s a big week for Spider-Man fans. Amid ticket sales opening this week for the latest live-action Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, PlayStation and developer Insomniac Games have announced free DLC coming to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
The 2023 action-adventure game is adding Peter Parker’s “Fresh Start” suit from Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is notably similar to the character’s original comic book appearance.
When is Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 adding the Spider-Man: Brand New Day suit?
The fourth Spider-Man movie set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, entitled Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is set to hit theatres next month. To hype up the upcoming movie’s release, PlayStation and Insomniac Games are giving Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 its first post-launch DLC content in a long time.
Owners of the game will soon receive a Fresh Start suit via an upcoming update set to launch on 28 July, 2026. The free update will add Peter Park’s flashy new suit from Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is a slightly modified version of the suit seen at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
The latter suit is, in fact, already available in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, as is Spider-Man’s classic comic book suit. That would make this the third suit to almost identically resemble the character’s iconic red-and-blue look from the comics. There are a few key differences with this suit, of course. For example, Brand New Day's suit comes with large visible web shooters on Spider-Man's wrists.
This isn’t the first time the Marvel’s Spider-Man series has added suits from Spider-Man movies, either. Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: No Way Home’s suits were also available in the games, and a few more suits–ranging from Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man suits to Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man suits–have also been included.
The announcement coincided with the release of a new trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, as well as ticket sales for the movie opening up worldwide. Meanwhile, Insomniac Games is ramping up to the release of its next big Marvel game: Marvel’s Wolverine, launching on 15 September, 2026.
