The creator of Vampire Survivor will launch Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton later this year.
During the Nintendo Direct presentation earlier today, fans were given a look at an upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen multiplayer bullet heaven game developed by poncle, the team behind the genre-defining 2022 hit Vampire Survivors.
The game, titled Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton, is set to launch later this year on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam.
Take a look at the announcement trailer below:
Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton
Release date: 2026 (exact date TBA)
Platforms: Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Steam
Developer: poncle
What is Jujutsu Kaisen Rumble: Survivaton about?
The announcement trailer offered a detailed look at the new Jujutsu Kaisen game, based on the popular manga and anime series of the same name. This Survivaton entry features familiar roguelike bullet heaven gameplay, similar to Vampire Survivors.
However, the developers have added lore-accurate Jujutsu Kaisen elements to spice things up, including mechanics inspired by the Culling Game rules.
Players can team up with friends, strangers online, or play in a PvE mode. In multiplayer, up to eight players compete on the same map, aiming to earn the most skills or points.
When a player reaches 100 points, they can introduce a new rule that affects the match, including ones that may hinder other players’ progress. The game then culminates in a final battle between the top two players.
There will be over 20 playable characters, including fan favourites such as Yuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, Nobara Kugisaki, and Satoru Gojo.
The game also features deeper combat mechanics with the introduction of special techniques, allowing players to unleash iconic moves such as Domain Expansion, which can be activated after filling a specific energy gauge.
While a precise release date has yet to be confirmed, fans of Jujutsu Kaisen and the bullet heaven genre should keep an eye out for further updates as the game prepares for launch later this year.
