The sequel continues the story beyond the events of the first game, introducing a new protagonist, Evie.
Shift Up has officially unveiled Stellar Blade: Blood Rain, the sequel to its 2024 action-adventure hit Stellar Blade, with a debut trailer shown during Summer Game Fest 2026.
The announcement marks the first major look at the franchise's future and comes alongside news that the game will be published through Shift Up's newly established publishing division.

What is Stellar Blade: Blood Rain?
Stellar Blade: Blood Rain continues the story after the events of the first game and introduces a new protagonist, Evie. ShiftUp said that the sequel is set in the same universe as the original game and "continues the story beyond the events of the first game, introducing new protagonist Evie and expanding the world in a bold new direction."
The reveal trailer offered the first glimpse of her in action. Evie is seen communicating through a handheld communicator while tracking a group of suspicious individuals near a train station. As one of the targets stops, he suddenly draws attention to himself, exclaiming, “Hearken, the false rain shall cease! In the name of the father!” Moments later, the man transforms into a monster similar to the Naytiba from the first game. Evie responds immediately, bringing out a weapon from her hand and engaging the creature in combat.
The trailer then shifts into a montage of action-heavy sequences, showing Evie battling multiple increasingly grotesque monsters. It also showcased Evie exploring a futuristic city filled with crowds, while following a mysterious man with an augmented jaw.
Shift Up also indicated that it plans to build on the foundations that made the original a success. While the project remains in its early stages, the company said it has already made significant progress. “The team is hard focused on building upon the stylish action, world-building, and core elements that fans have adored from Stellar Blade, while evolving the universe in ambitious new ways," the devs said in a press release.
Which platforms will Stellar Blade: Blood Rain be on?
Unlike the first Stellar Blade, which was published by Sony Interactive Entertainment as a PlayStation 5 exclusive before arriving on PC over a year later, Stellar Blade: Blood Rain will be published by Shift Up itself through its new publishing arm. That change could open the door for a wider launch across platforms, including Xbox Series X and S alongside PlayStation 5 and PC.
With development still in its early stages, fans may have to wait some time before learning more about the sequel's gameplay, setting, and release plans.
