Stellar Blade breaks one million PC sales just three days after launch

Across platforms, the game surpassed more than three million units sold since launch.

The Stellar Blade hype shows no signs of slowing down, especially following its recent PC launch. Developer Shift Up has confirmed that the game has now surpassed three million copies sold across all platforms since its initial release. Impressively, over one million of those were sold on PC within just three days of its launch on the platform. It is currently part of Steam’s top 10 best sellers for June.

Stellar Blade is an action-adventure Souls-like title developed by Shift Up, the first Korean studio to become a second-party developer for Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE). Originally launching exclusively on PlayStation 5 last year, the game quickly gained traction among global audiences, topping pre-order charts in over 60 countries.

Thanks to its fast-paced combat, striking visuals, and engaging gameplay, the title earned a user score of 9.2 on Metacritic, and won eight categories in the PlayStation Blog’s Game of the Year awards, which gathered votes from more than 1.6 million users. Critical acclaim and strong public support helped solidify its status as both a popular and artistically-respected release.

The PC version of Stellar Blade sets new records on Steam

The PC version of Stellar Blade launched earlier this month to instant success. On its first day, it shot to the top of Steam’s global sales rankings and peaked at over 180,000 concurrent players, marking the highest launch for any SIE-published single-player game on the platform.

On Steam, Stellar Blade has been met with widespread praise. Within 24 hours, more than 8,500 user reviews had poured in, with over 96% marked as 'Overwhelmingly Positive'. Currently, more than 94% of the 15,600+ user reviews are rated as positive, reflecting strong support from the community.

Stellar Blade on PC features extensive performance upgrades

The PC release of Stellar Blade includes a host of enhancements tailored for high-end setups and varied hardware configurations. It supports DLSS 4 and FSR 3-based upscaling and frame generation, high-resolution textures, an unlocked frame rate, and ultra-wide display formats. These technical upgrades allow players to fully experience the game’s signature high-octane action, regardless of their PC specifications. The result is a stable, visually stunning experience that has earned praise for its optimisation and performance.

To mark the PC launch on 12 June, Shift Up also introduced a cross-IP collaboration event featuring its other game, Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, which featured a NIKKE-themed DLC, complete with a new map area, NIKKE-themed skins, a new minigame, a new boss fight, and more.

Stellar Blade was also confirmed to have a sequel in development, which the team targets to launch in or before 2027.
