The cavalry's here!
Fortnite’s next major crossover is bringing some of Overwatch’s biggest names into the battle royale mode, with Tracer, Mercy, Genji, and D.Va all set to arrive in a new update launching tomorrow.
The collaboration was revealed through a cinematic trailer uploaded on the official YouTube page on 14 May (GMT+8):
In the trailer, Jonesy can be seen trying to carry an injured Fishstick to safety, while the Ice King and his forces close in around them. Just before things fall apart, Mercy arrives to heal the pair, delivering her iconic “Heroes never die!” line before the rest of the Overwatch squad enters the fight.
Tracer also appears with her famous “Cheers love, the cavalry’s here!” line as the battle swings back in Jonesy and Fishstick’s favour.
Which Overwatch heroes are coming to Fortnite?
So far, four Overwatch heroes have been confirmed for the collaboration:
- Tracer
- Mercy

- D.Va
What new maps, outfits, and hero weapons are in the Fortnite x Overwatch collab?
Alongside the arrival of Tracer, Genji, D.Va and Mercy, the official overview for the crossover highlights a wider set of gameplay and map additions coming to Fortnite as part of the update.
The collaboration includes new outfits for the Overwatch heroes, alongside themed additions to the Island such as map landmarks inspired by classic Overwatch locations, including Hanamura, Busan Drum Pavilion, King’s Row, and Watchpoints.
New hero-themed weapons are also featured, including the Caduceus Staff and Pulse Pistols, tying directly into Mercy and Tracer’s identities from Overwatch.
Earlier parts of the season focused on surviving members of The Seven, including The Foundation, voiced by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Laura Bailey’s The Order, and a new version of The Visitor voiced by Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 actor Ben Starr.
Act 2 later shifted focus toward The Elites faction, alongside further changes to the Island and loot pool.
When does Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 end?
Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 is currently scheduled to end on 5 June. Players are also expecting a live event to conclude the season’s ongoing storyline surrounding the restoration of the Zero Point, Fortnite’s long-running multiversal power source that allows characters and worlds from different universes to cross over into the Island.
