Laufey headlines Fortnite Season 14 with ‘Madwoman’ as her Jam Track.
Fortnite Festival has announced jazz-pop singer Laufey as the headliner of Season 14, arriving on April 16, alongside a brand-new karaoke function, expanded live instrument support, and several other fun upgrades.
Laufey is an Icelandic-Chinese singer known for her unique blend of jazz into modern pop, with songs including her biggest hit, “From the Start,” which has amassed more than one billion streams on Spotify. Fresh off her performance at Coachella on April 12 (with another scheduled for April 19), Laufey is now making her way to the virtual stage of Fortnite Festival and the Fortnite Item Shop.
What Laufey x Fortnite items are available?
The music-focused Fortnite mode will launch its Season 14 Emberlight Music Pass, which allows players to immediately unlock the White Dress Laufey Outfit. Players can also earn additional Laufey-themed rewards, including instruments, Auras, and the “Madwoman” Jam Track, featuring the newly-released song from just a week ago. The top-tier reward in the pass is the Golden Era Laufey Outfit.
If you do not have the Music Pass and want specific Laufey-themed cosmetics, you can head over to the Fortnite Item Shop. There, players can purchase all items from the pass and more, including the Lover Girl Laufey Outfit, Mei Mei the Bunny Back Bling, plus Jam Tracks and Emotes for “Lover Girl” and “Tough Luck.”
Karaoke Mode and additional upgrades
Fortnite Festival is also adding more ways for players to enjoy the experience. Players can now sing live in real time using the new Mic Vocals feature, which requires a working microphone connected on PC or console.
Drummers can also use the new Pro Drums feature, allowing compatible real-life instruments such as a Rock Band 4 drum kit or any MIDI drum kit for a more realistic performance experience.
Epic Games has also improved avatar movement inside the Jam Ring while playing, allowing players to move around more freely. In addition, a new Quick Mix UI makes swapping and shuffling tracks faster for instant mashups.
Fortnite’s packed schedule continues
As usual, Fortnite’s timeline remains packed with content. The game is also set to release its OG Save the World mode for free for the first time since launch during the same Season 14 update period.
There are even larger projects beyond Fortnite itself, with Epic Games reportedly working with Disney on a large-scale extraction shooter title, while also continuing internal efforts to expand further into the mobile gaming market with Fortnite's long-awaited arrival in the mobile app stores.
