Sword Art Online is getting a new game adaptation.
Bandai Namco Entertainment has officially revealed Echoes of Aincrad, an all-new RPG set in the Sword Art Online universe. This will continue Bandai Namco’s trend of developing Sword Art Online game adaptations, following the release of Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream in 2024, and Sword Art Online: Last Recollection in 2023.

Sword Art Online game Echoes of Aincrad announced, launching in July 2026
Bandai Namco Entertainment’s next big RPG is Echoes of Aincrad, a fantasy game set in the world of Sword Art Online. The game will allow players to create a custom character and experience the familiar setting of Aincrad, building up their combat kit as they progress through the game, build a party, and take on quests.
Players will have to rely on looting gear, switching weapon types, and levelling up to triumph in combat, while also working in synergy with their party members. Aincrad represents a region with lots of room for exploration, allowing players to hunt down monsters, complete quests, and make their way through the story.
The game will launch with Deluxe and Ultimate editions, with the Deluxe edition including an expansion launching on 31 December, 2026. The Ultimate edition will further add access to more DLC and bonuses, plus an armour set.
Echoes of Aincrad launches on 10 July, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
