Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls’ second closed beta test details
PlayStation Studios and Arc System Works’ upcoming fighting game Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is hosting its second Closed Beta test next month. The beta test will only be available on PlayStation 5 consoles, and kicks off on 5 December, 2025 at 12am Pacific Time (PT). The beta will include two recently-revealed characters returning from previous demos at Evo 2025 and Tokyo Game Show 2025: Ghost Rider and Spider-Man.
That bumps up the game’s playable hero roster to eight, including:
- Captain America (Steve Rogers)
- Doctor Doom
- Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes)
- Iron Man
- Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan)
- Spider-Man (Peter Parker)
- Star-Lord
- Storm
Eight makes for a nice evenly-numbered roster of playable characters, given that the game allows players to create four-character teams. Additionally, two new stages will be available in the game’s second Closed Beta test: Savage Land and the X-Mansion. Savage Land is dinosaur-themed, and includes nods to comic book characters like Ka-Zar.
X-Mansion is set in the titular school for mutants, and even features a few of said mutants simply lounging in the background, as players duke it out onscreen. Among others, Nightcrawler, Gambit, Beast, Colossus, and Angel can be seen–potentially ruling them out as playable characters down the line.
On top of that, the second Closed Beta is also making changes regarding character balancing, performance optimisation, visual fidelity, and more, based on feedback from the first Closed Beta. The developer plans to share more information on these changes in the coming weeks.
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls’ second Closed Beta will run from 5–7 December, 2025. On 5 and 6 December, players will get to try out both CPU and online battles. On 7 December, only online battles will be available.
If you participated in the previous Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls Closed Beta, you will automatically be registered for the second test in December. Those who signed up but did not participate can also look out for an invitation email, but everyone else will have to sign up here.
