Netflix announces release date for Splinter Cell: Deathwatch
Netflix has finally announced a release date for its forthcoming adaptation of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell. The animated TV series, which is in production at Ubisoft Film & Television, is titled Splinter Cell Deathwatch, and follows an older and more grizzled Sam Fisher. Notably, Liev Schreiber is taking over the role of Fisher from the character’s long-time voice actor Michael Ironside in this series.
The Splinter Cell: Deathwatch teaser doesn’t give away too much about its plot, only that the mission he’s set out to complete this time around is personal. Its premise simply reads: “Sam Fisher is drawn back into the field when a wounded young operative seeks out his help.”
Janet Varney (The Legend of Korra) joins Schreiber in the series’ cast as Anna Grimsdottir, while Kirby (The Sandman) stars as Zinnia McKenna, and Joel Oulette stars as Thunder. John Wick creator Derek Kolstad is writing the series.
Splinter Cell: Deathwatch begins streaming on Netflix on 14 October, 2025.
