Hollow Knight Silksong officially launches in just two weeks, new trailer confirms

It only took eight years, but the sequel to Hollow Knight is finally launching next month.

Team Cherry has finally released a new gameplay trailer for Hollow Knight: Silksong. The trailer confirms over 200 in-game foes for players to slay, but most importantly, it also confirms the game’s shockingly close release date: 4 September, 2025.

That’s just two weeks away! Watch the new trailer below:

Hollow Knight: Silksong has officially announced a release date

Hollow Knight developer Team Cherry is finally set to release its impending sequel, Hollow Knight: Silksong, next month. The game’s absence from industry game shows and presentations has been a running gag among Hollow Knight fans for literal years. Fans have put on clown makeup time upon time again to tune into a new Nintendo Direct or Xbox Games Showcase, hoping for even the smallest crumb of new information on the game.

This week, Team Cherry has finally revealed the reason behind this long wait: it seemingly wanted to give players access to the game as soon as possible, following its next big marketing drop. That being said, one can hardly call the trailer Team Cherry released this week a big marketing drop–it’s just the light at the end of a very long tunnel for Hollow Knight fans.

The trailer confirms a few things, at least: Hollow Knight: Silksong will have over 200 enemies for players to fight, and over 40 bosses for them to slay. The game will feature acrobatic combat, a beautiful handcrafted world, and a kingdom that needs to be given hope again. The gameplay shown off in the trailer is as smooth and pretty as players might have expected after all these years, keeping the hype train rolling onwards with gusto.

Hollow Knight: Silksong launches on 4 September, 2025, on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
