Lucy also brings Quickhack to Guilty Gear Strive.
Arc System Works has shown off more gameplay for Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, who is set to be the final character for Guilty Gear Strive’s Season Pass 4. Revealed during Evo 2025, Lucy is set to join the playable roster as a playable DLC guest character on 21 August, and she’s bringing a taste of Cyberpunk 2077’s signature mechanics with her.
Lucy brings Cyberpunk 2077’s hacking into the arena
Based on the breakout character from CD Projekt’s Netflix anime spin-off Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, Lucy brings all-new gameplay elements to the arena.
In her newly-released gameplay trailer, she uses Quickhacks from Cyberpunk 2077. Combat pauses momentarily while Lucy activates hacks such as Algorithm Malfunction, Optics Inhibition, and Energy Siphon, each draining a segment of Cyberdeck Ram, just like in Night City.
The impact of each hack is clearly visualised, too. Debuff icons, directly lifted from Cyberpunk 2077, appear above the opponent and fade shortly after application, bringing a unique rhythm and tactical layer to Guilty Gear’s signature fast-paced fighting.
Lucy’s arrival in Guilty Gear Strive on 21 August will coincide with the implementation of Rank Match mode and a new round of battle balance adjustments. This update marks the conclusion of Season Pass 4, and introduces both competitive infrastructure and gameplay refinements alongside the new DLC character.
Guilty Gear hits the 3.5 million player milestone
Lucy may round out the current season pass, but Arc System Works have made it clear that Guilty Gear Strive is far from finished. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the official Guilty Gear account stated:
The announcement was paired with a short video celebrating a major milestone: the game has racked up 3.5 million players since launch. It also confirmed that Guilty Gear Strive 2.00 is on the way, due sometime in 2026.
While details on the update remain scarce, the teaser ended with glimpses of two silhouetted characters. Fans are already speculating that Robo-Ky and Jam Kuradoberi are making a comeback.
Lucy will be live and playable on 21 August. Further details on version 2.00 and upcoming content will be revealed in the future. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, on the other hand, is getting a second season.
