The collaboration between Overwatch 2 and Gundam Wing has begun to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the mecha anime.
Overwatch 2 has unveiled the collaboration with Gundam Wing, bringing the legendary mecha series and the hero shooter together. This crossover celebrated Gundam Wing’s 30th anniversary, introducing four exclusive skins and themed rewards for players. The collaboration officially launches on 29 April, 2025 and will run until 13 May, 2025. During this limited-time event, players can unlock the Legendary skins inspired by iconic Gundam suits.
Four Overwatch 2 heroes will receive Gundam Wing-themed skins, each designed to reflect the aesthetics of the legendary mechas:
- Mercy: Wing Gundam Zero
- Soldier: 76: Tallgeese
- Reaper: Deathscythe
- Ramattra: Epyon
These skins transform the heroes into their respective iconic mobile suits, maintaining their recognisable silhouettes while embracing Gundam’s futuristic designs. Players can earn Gundam Wing-themed cosmetics alongside the skins by completing event challenges. Some of the rewards include a Shinigami Title, Zero System Spray, and Gundamari Weapon Charm.
The skins will be available in hero bundles via the in-game shop. Players can also purchase the Overwatch 2 x Gundam Wing Mega Bundle, which includes all four skins and additional cosmetics.
Previously, the skins were leaked by an X user. The leak proved to be true, as all four skins sported the exact same rumoured designs.
Gundam Wing was the first Gundam series to air in North America, introducing Western audiences to the beloved franchise. Now, its legacy continues in Overwatch 2, where players can relive their childhood by playing the game.
