Capcom has revealed Street Fighter 6 with a new teaser trailer

After a week-long countdown, Capcom has revealed Street Fighter 6 with more information coming this summer.

It’s official: we’re getting a new Street Fighter game, not that it was ever in doubt. After a week-long countdown on Capcom’s website, the company officially revealed Street Fighter 6 with a surprisingly photorealistic trailer. Watch the teaser below:

While this teaser is light on the details, Capcom has promised more Street Fighter 6 announcements will come this summer, which happens to be around the time E3 2022 should take place. If these visuals are anything to go by, however, it looks like the franchise is about to make a big graphical leap. Cinematic teasers can be misleading, but Ryu and Luke look pretty far removed from their more cartoonish counterparts in Street Fighter 5.

Street Fighter celebrates its 35th anniversary this year. Capcom previously told fans to expect, “further developments,” in the iconic franchise throughout 2022. This announcement is clearly part of those celebrations, and it comes hot on the heels of Street Fighter 5's final DLC character release - Luke, in 2021. Capcom is wasting no time getting fans excited for the next Street Fighter, but one wonders if this will be the one to take Street Fighter back to the top of fighting game tournaments globally. Who knows?

On the back of this announcement, Capcom also unveiled the Capcom Fighting Collection. This bundle consists of ten classic games:

  • Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors
  • Night Warriors: Darkstalkers’ Revenge
  • Vampire Savior: The Lord of Vampire
  • Vampire Hunter 2: Darkstalkers’ Revenge
  • Vampire Savior 2: The Lord of Vampire
  • Red Earth
  • Cyberbots: Fullmetal Madness
  • Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix
  • Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
  • Hyper Street Fighter II

Capcom Fighting Collection will launch with online play and rollback netcode (yay!) on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on June 24, 2022.
