HellRaisers are not “ready to be active in Esports.”
HellRaisers just finished the second tour of the 2023 Dota Pro Circuit with a spotless 7-0 series score and secured a second Major appearance in a row this year. However, according to an announcement made via Twitter, the team will not play under the HR banner in Berlin.
“We have decided to stop using the HR tag as the organisation is not ready to be active in esports,” reads the statement. The entire management team and the whole roster will, however, continue together.
ESL One Berlin Major is less than a month away, but the roster is also set to compete at DreamLeague Season 19, which is now part of the ESL Pro Tour and offers a ticket to this year’s $15,000,000 Riyadh Masters edition.
It is unclear if the now former HR roster will sign with another organisation before DreamLeague, which starts on the 9th of April or even before the ESL One Berlin Major set to begin on the 26th of the month.
In the previous DPC Tour, HR placed third in the EEU Division I regional league grabbing 120 points. However, immediately after qualifying for the first Major of the year, they kicked their carry, Nikita "Daxak" Kuzmi, and played at the Lima Major with OG’s Artem "Yuragi" Golubiev standing in. Besides the points penalty applied for releasing a player before the Major, HR didn’t add any points to their tally in Lima as they got eliminated in the 9th-12th place.
Coming to the second Tour, the team welcomed Roman "RAMZES666" Kushnarev in the carry role and claimed first place in the EEU league, grabbing 400 DPC points. Ahead of the Berlin Major, the squad stands in the 9th place in the DPC rankings with a total of 496 points.
Per Valve’s DPC rules, at the end of the third and final Major of the year, the top 12 teams in the DPC rankings receive a direct invite to The International 2023.
