TNC to take a break from competing for DPC 2022-23

TNC has announced they will be stepping away from competing in the DPC 2022-23 season.

In an announcement via Facebook HERE, CEO & founder Eric Redulfin reported that the organization would be taking a break from competition in order to rebuild.

This is a very tough and difficult decision. TNC Predator Dota 2 will not participate in the upcoming DPC Season. The organization will take a break from the competitive scene and support the landscape from the sidelines. There were a lot of discussions, negotiations, and moving parts to make this [something] happen. Unfortunately, this plan did not come to life for TNC. We've come a long way, starting from competing in cybercafes, all the way to the biggest Dota 2 streets. From not making through for the most LAN qualifiers to winning WESG, ESL, and Major Championship and gaining glory for our country.

TNC Predator has not had the best year in Dota 2. They had a dismal performance in the DPC 2021-22 Season Winter Tour, where they went 0-6 the first two weeks and ended in last place with a 3:12 game (1:6 series) record —resulting in regulation to Division II.

In the Spring Tour, things were marginally better and they ended in fifth place with a 2:5 series (6:11 game) record —thus keeping their spot in Division II for the last season.

During the Summer Tour, the organization managed to sink even lower. Ending the last tour of the DPC 2021-22 season in 7th place, they were knocked out of the DPC for the next season. In order to participate again they would have to go through the open and close qualifiers.

For The International 2022 qualifiers, TNC came in dead last, being eliminated in the first round of the lower brackets.

TNC is a Southeast Asian multi-gaming organization of the Philippine net cafe chain TheNet.Com.

They began to rise in 2016 when they became the first Philippine team to qualify for The International since Mineski at TI1.

In 2019 TNC won both ESL One Hamburg 2019; the first ESL won by a SEA team, and the MDL Chengdu Major, placing them on top of the 2019-2020 DPC rankings.

Redulfin acknowledged that this was the worst season for the organization but did promise that the organization would return in the near future.
